What is a Soroptimist?

Soroptimist is an international volunteer service organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

Why become a Soroptimist?

  • to meet and know other good women;
  • help to run the club and raise support for our programs of service;
  • to be of service to the women and communities of our city.

Requirements to Join:

  • attend fund raisers and two meetings a month;
  • pay dues and other fees of at least $131.00 a year;
  • pay for two lunches a month consistent with current charges of $275.00 a year

Meetings:

Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
Meetings on the first Wednesday of each month are at 6 pm at The California Endowment, 1000 N Alameda St., LA, CA 90012. Parking: Enter on Bauchet Street on the south side of the building and proceed to the parking lot. Sign-in at the security desk in the lobby. The guard will direct you to the second floor. Dinner is served.

Meetings on the third Wednesday are at the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce from noon to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is served.

A Soroptimist is a leader in her profession, business or community. By joining with other women and personally engaging in awareness, advocacy and action in service to her community and society, she makes the world a better place for human kind.
