Carol A Oglesby

Carol A. Oglesby, PhD is chair of the Department of Kinesiology at California State Northridge and Interim Director of the Center of Achievement for Adaptive Physical Activity.  Dr. Oglesby received her PhD in Physical Education from Purdue University in 1969 and earned a second PhD in Counseling from Temple University in 1999.  Her service to women in sport is extensive.

  • Inaugural President, Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, 1971-72;
  • President, National Association of Girls and Women in Sport, 1977-78;
  • President, Women’s Sport International, 1997- present;
  • Trustee, Women’s Sports Foundation, 1991-1997. 
  • Member, International Working Group on Women and Sport 1998-2002; 
  • Member, Board of Directors, United States Olympic Committee, 1992-1996.
Trish Devine
Trish Devine is a Director of Development for City of Hope Cancer Center. She’s a member of the Benevolent Order of Elks, Lions Club International, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and is a new member of Soroptimist International LA where she is the Vice President of Ways and Means. She lives with her husband, 6 dogs, 2 horses and varied wild life that she rehabilitates back to nature.
Janet Elliott
Janet Elliott is a former Banker (Trust Officer) turned Nonprofit CFO.  After 20 years handling trusts and estates for Bank of America and City National Bank, Janet joined the nonprofit sector ten years ago to handle finance and administration for Community Partners®, an incubator for emerging nonprofit initiatives.
Julie Frederick-Mairs
Julie Frederick-Mairs is currently Director of Strategic and Change Management at a local medical center. She is a retired healthcare executive and is listed in Who's Who's in American Women. Julie is married with children, grandchildren and a dog. "Well begun is half done."
Joyce Jacob
Joyce Jacob is a nurse dedicated to grass root efforts and the needs of children. These have been her life mission and calling which she has carried out in a career as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, a nursing administrator, and in preventive health care legislative work which resulted in recognition by the State of California with the passing of the child helmet safety law.
Joan Johnson
Joan Johnson became a member of Soroptimist International of Los Angeles (SIILA) when she was Chair of the Department of Physical Education and Athletics at California State University, Los Angeles in 1978. She retired in 1992 and continues to be an active Soroptimist. As a successful competitor on the tennis court, Joan played at Wimbledon in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles before her teaching days. A long-time tennis coach and leader in women's athletics, she has been inducted into the Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Hall of Fame. She is co-author of TENNIS, now in its 8th edition.
Stephanie Klopfleisch
Stephanie Klopfleisch is a musician. She plays viola in three orchestras and two quartets, and piano accompaniment for a men's glee club.  Stephanie serves as a speaker for the LA Philharmonic, is a board member at USC Library, Pomona College and Brentwood Symphony.  She is the retired director of LA County Department of Community and Senior Services. Her biography is in Who's Who's in American Women and Who's Who's in America. Stephanie is married, has two daughters, three grandchildren and has been a members of SILA for 14 years. "Music is life, everything else is details."
Mary Porter
Mary Porter is a concerned mother of two, and grandmother of five, who graduated from Loyola Law School in 1977.  For the past 27 years, she has specialized in medical negligence law at the trial court and appellate levels, defending healthcare providers.  She intends “to keep practicing until I get it right!”
